Mentor/Beginning Teacher Action Plan

SPRING - YEAR TWO

Administrators who support planned, ongoing interactions between mentors and beginning teachers are facilitating professional growth opportunities for both individuals. Administrators should encourage development and implementation of action plans such as the following.

• Finalize and submit BEST Portfolio.
     - Review the Required Portfolio Format and Submission of Portfolio.
     - Proofread/make final revisions to portfolio.
     - Read the Portfolio Assembly Checklist and Finalizing Your Portfolio.
     - Make two additional copies of the entire portfolio, including videos and student work.
     - Have principal review the portfolio and then sign the Teaching Portfolio Authenticity Form.
     - Mail original and one copy of portfolio to EASTCONN. Keep one copy.
• Reflect on and have a conversation with a colleague about specific knowledge and skills that have
been developed over the past two years.
• Develop professional learning goals for the upcoming year.
• Celebrate your many achievements!
