Start by reflecting briefly on your vision and goals for your school. As you read each section, ask yourself the question, “How can this help me reach these goals?” For instance, you might consider how you can:
• make links to your School Improvement Plan;
• use BEST requirements to consistently promote high expectations for student learning;
• support beginning teachers and mentors as they work together to analyze student work to make instructional decisions;
• use sample portfolio questions or the summary of portfolio expectations to guide your own conversations/conferences with new and experienced teachers; and
• make reflective practice and learning-focused conversations a cornerstone of your school culture.
