Encourage beginning teachers and mentors to register for and
attend spring regional BEST portfolio seminar. Follow up by
asking about new learning from seminars.

Meet with beginning teachers regarding year-end duties.

Meet with mentors, beginning teachers and other support
colleagues to reflect on the impact of support over the
first year and plan year-two support activities.
·
Meet with each beginning teacher to reflect on the past year
and plan year-two goals and professional development.
·
Encourage beginning teachers to continue accessing
www.ctbest.org as a resource to plan for next year.

Year-Two
Teachers
·
Check on beginning teacher’s portfolio progress. (Due in
early May.)
·
Provide release time for beginning teachers and mentors to
finalize the portfolio.
·
Review portfolio and sign attestation form.
· Meet
with beginning teachers to reflect on portfolio process and
learning.

Year-Three
Teachers
Teachers with “Conditional” status
·
Review portfolio feedback received in April. Discuss lessons
learned and set professional growth goals for next year.
BEST Graduates
Review professional growth related to goals set in October.
Determine if the beginning teacher would be an appropriate
person to attend Initial Support Training to become a
mentor. |
